New addition

Looks like my squad round-up is already out of date. Wayne O'Sullivan has moved to conference south side, Braintree and we have signed Luke Cole who impressed Westley in a trial.

Luke Cole is a young midfield player, who was part of Exeter City’s youth set up last season.

Personally i didn't think we needed ANOTHER midfielder, but it seems he is one for the future.

Pre-season starts soon so hopefully the players have begun to familiarise eachother with one another, so we can take the BSP by storm this year!

The 2008/09 Squad Round-Up

Ok, so we have a lot of changes since the beginning of last season. Stimmo left, took a load of players with him, Taylor came in, brought some very mediocre players in, and then failed to make the playoffs. Graham Westley then returned, and has made a whole host of signings, including getting Moro to sign on again.

With all these changes I have decided to do a list of all the players we now have in the squad. Eventually I will put pics on here once all the new headshots are done so we can see who the new players are!

Ashley Bayes - Goalkeeper

Luke Oliver - Defender

Ronnie Henry - Defender

Scott Laird - Defender

Eddie Anaclet - Defender

Lawrie Wilson - Defender/Midfielder

Gary Mills - Midfielder

David Bridges - Midfielder

Daryl McMahon - Midfielder

John Martin - Midfielder

Mitchell Cole - Midfielder

Craig Westcarr - Midfielder/Striker

Steve Morison - Striker

Callum Willock - Striker

Anthony Thomas - Striker

Lee Boylan - Striker

Iyseden Christie - Striker

I think that's it! If I have missed anyone please let me know. There is a comment section for this post. Cheers.

New Kit unveiled

We now have a picture of the new Boro kit to show to you all.

I think it looks really good. A lot more modern compared to the other kits. Although it doesn't show as many stripes that we are used to....

Check it out here:

Boro Kit

The new Boro kit will be on sale on Thursday of this week for those who are interested.

I think I may get this year's shirt. I did like the Wembley shirt, and this reminds me of it a bit. I wasn't too keen on last years because if you didn't get a name and number you had a giant white space on the back of it.

I think the new one looks quite stylish but the Megaman logo is rather huge on the front.

It if is ridiculously expensive then that may put me off. I am already getting the spurs shirt and that is going to set me back £45 pounds as it is.

It will be interesting to see how many fans do get this kit, as it has been raised that the stripes, which help define Boro, are barely there on this shirt.

Will you be getting it?

Moro Stays - Excellent News

The club has revealed that after talks today with Morison, he is set to stay with the club for next season at least.

He has signed a 3 year deal with a get out clause, that says if we don't go up next season, he can go for an agreed fee.

This is excellent news. I always had respect for him, as he only put himself on the market, not because he didn't want to be with Boro, but because he just wanted to play in the league. The fact he said he would only go to a League 1 or Championship side, shows just how much he wants Boro to be in the league.

He is a league player in my eyes, so hopefully his drive and determination will help us get up to the league this season.

The club have stated that Crewe did renew their interest in Moro, but it failed to meet the fee that PW and Westley had wanted for Moro.

I really did think that Moro was going. It is such a relief to know that we have our top striker still with us, and hopefully now he can work with the new strikers that have come in.

I would imagine that this would probably be the end to Westley's signing spree, but you never know what is around the corner!

Things look promising

I have to admit I was a bit sceptical when it came to PW bringing back Westley. I thought it was a step backwards. I did however, say to myself, I will see what signings he brings in, and judge him on the promise of those players and the results next season.

I have to say, things do look promising for Boro. It seems that Westley has brought in some great players to the club. I know we haven't seen them, but on what people have heard about such players, or seen in matches against Boro, certainly boades well with me.

Bringing in Mark A from Cambridge has been a great signing in my eyes. Yes he is a little bit older, but he does have a lot of experience, and Cambridge's defensive record was excellent last season. If he can implicate any of the knowledge he picked up at Cambridge of how to keep a clean sheet, then i'm game.

Morison is obviously a doubt when it comes to staying at Boro. I know if he stays then he will give 100% for the club, but I just see it as a matter of time before he goes and plays league football. I consider him a football league player, so I think that it is only right that he gets the opportunity to play in the league. I believe Crewe are interested once again, so it wouldn't surprise me if he left to go there. We just need to know soon, so we can either get a replacement or focus on team building.

Westley is starting to build a good squad at Boro. We now have up front, Westcarr, Willock, Thomas, and Moro if he is here. The midfield has been completely cleared out, but with the likes of Mills, Bridges, Bostwick, McMahon and Cole, it is sure to show promise. The defence has also grown stronger with Albrighton, Anaclet, and Henry set to work with players like Laird and Luke Oliver. I would expect maybe another defender to come in, possibly the final signing for Westley if Moro does not leave. It is rumoured that we are after another Cambridge United defender called Lee Boyland, but according to Cambridge they have rejected the offer.

I know there have been a lot of players coming in and out of the squad, which is exactly what happened when Stimmo started and when Taylor came in. It is obviously not good, but this time round it is different. Westley has signed these players early on, so they have time to gel and team bond. It won't be rushed, and hopefully they will have enough understanding with one another, that this time it won't look like 11 different strangers playing on the pitch, but rather as a team, and as a unit.

Fingers crossed it will all work out, and in those pre-season friendlies they can showcase just how good they are.
