Well it looks like Setanta have gone, and Eddie is going. According to Westley Analcet didn't show the right attitude, hence why he was transfer listed.
It was a shame to hear that to be honest. Ok, he wasn't getting in the team, but if you are not in the team then you need to re-address yourself and put in 110% to try and get back in the side. Calum has gone for the same reason. I remember telling you all ages ago, how I saw Willock in the gym with Christie and they were on bikes at level 1. I am not being funny, but if you want to get in the team you have got to be doing more than that. Especially when you look over and John Martin is working like a trojan and Andy Drury is running like mad to get his fitness back after his injury.
I am a bit disappointed to say goodbye to Setanta. Yes it was annoying to have our fixtures moved about, and the picture quality was always rubbish, BUT they brought in a lot of revenue for the club and it gave us a chance to watch other teams play. It made my knowledge of the BSP better, and even though I got annoyed with them speaking to the managers during the game so it meant I was missing the action, the channel definitely promoted the BSP.
We can also say goodbye to Dino. He won't be playing for Boro anymore. But alas do not fear - he will be on the coaching staff still!
All things Boro are coming along nicely. I am very happy with the team and I really hope Boro can push on this season, and make all our dreams come true.
I hope to get the new player profiles up in the next week or so, so watch this space!!
Oh and I just want to have a little mention to the girl who has had the Boro badge tattooed onto her back. That is mental - but what a way to say "I love Boro!!" :)
Boro have a little while longer to wait for this season's fixtures. All the Premiership clubs however, found out today. Spurs seem to have a nightmare April. Arsenal, then Chelsea then Man Utd, 3 weeks in a row. They are really given us a shot there aren't they! I hope Boro are a little bit more lucky than that. If they have a tough April as well, I don't think I will have much hair and nails left by the end of it!
I am really looking forward to the season already. It is amazing how much football is a part of my life. I have missed not waking up to Soccer Am and then tuning into Geoff and then settling down to either watching Boro or watching a game on TV. Then there are all the mid-week games that keep you busy, and the rumours about players etc through the week.
Although it won't be long though until the season is back up and running again.
So hopefully this year will be a cracking year for both Spurs and Boro. Then you could witness the most jubilant posts ever!!!
I just want to say rest in peace to Tony Kempster. Tony was in ill health for quite sometime, resulting in his non league website being frozen and increasing concern for his welfare. It certainly makes you think more about your health and everyone around you, especially as he was given such a short amount of time to comprehend everything.
I know a lot of Boro fans who are great admirers of Tony, and he really did a lot for non league football. His stats and services were truly great, and I just want to wish his family all the best at this difficult time.
Cat.
Sorry for the lack of updates, believe me it is not because I have forgotten all about Boro, it is just that we have been very busy here on the web desk.
Since my last post Boro have signed Stacy Long, which looks like a very promising signing indeed. We have heard rave reviews from Ebbsfleet and he still is quite young, at 24.
He will definitely be fighting for a place now as our midfield is bulging with great prospects. We have Mitchell, Bostwick, Bridges, Murphy, Long, Byrom, Vincenti, Drury, Wilson and I am sure I have forgotten some.
Most of them can play in a variety of positions so it will give us great strength in depth.
I feel that the squad is definitely going in the right direction, so hopefully next season will be a very promising one.
Now completely off Boro but still on football, the little known subject of Cristiano Ronaldo.
£80m!!! Are you kidding me?! Great for Man Utd but now I fear they will just buy up everyone’s players. Although I think this could mean Tevez stays there which is good because I really rate him. They best not take any of our boys from spurs.
I just think that is a ridiculous amount to spend on a player, and then say that he will be paid 9.5m a year followed by a 25% increase every year. How many lives could be helped with just one of those millions?
