I didn’t manage to get to the game on Saturday as it was my birthday the day before so I had lots planned with my friends, but from what I have heard we seemed to have played pretty well. (And no I am not neglecting Boro)
Typical of Morison to get two goals, but to be fair that must have silenced his critics, so he must have been very chuffed with that. Did he celebrate his goals at all?
Apparently there was a giant bust up after a Murphy challenge on one of their players. I say apparent, I have seen the pictures (follow the link at the end of this post).
Everyone knew it was going to be a fiery affair, but that adds it all to the game. As long as no one gets hurt or injured it can prove quite interesting to watch. The players have just got to hold onto their tempers and be the bigger person.
It is the same when we play Cambridge. Hopefully this year we won’t lose as many players to red cards as we did in the latter part of last season.
Since I last posted Westley has come out and said that we have finished our spending now, and to be honest I am very happy with what we have got. We seem to have strength in numbers for most of our positions and I could quite easily pick a variety of starting 11’s that I would be happy with.
We have Peterborough tomorrow, and I am not sure if I can go to that yet, or if I have anyone to go with, but hopefully we get the win there.
One thing is for sure, there will be one ex Boro player who will always get a great reception.

So I managed to get to the game on Saturday with my dad and brother. And I am so glad I did! I thought the lads played really well and they definitely deserved to win on the day.
I was very impressed with all of our new signings, Long looked particularly good. Joel and Charlie both worked very hard and Yemi made an instant impact for the second goal.
I also thought Lawrie had a great game. He was unstoppable throughout the game and worked tirelessly up the right hand side of the pitch. Murphy also played well in the first half. He had a never say die attitude and it was great to see his passion. He did however, seem to go a bit quiet in the second half, so hopefully that is one part of his game that he will set upon improving.
It was very good to see that the team gelled so well. Not many passes went astray and there seemed to be a great understanding between the players. They all played with smiles on their faces, and they all looked like they were eager to crack on.
I don’t know how Westley is going to pick his first squad against Tamworth. The midfield is absolutely bulging with potential. We have so many great players to pick from, which isn’t a bad place to be in. I thought Lawrie was superb but then you have Drury, who is such a worker, and just a great player overall. Then you have still got Bridges, Bostwick, Cole, Byrom, Long, Yemi and Murphy.
Considering last year I was a bit worried about the midfield, as it used to go missing during some games, at least I know now that we seem to have a great quality midfield that will be sitting on the bench as well as in the line up.
Personally I think my team would be…
Day, Laird, Roberts, Bostwick, Henry, Byrom, Cole, Long, Bridges (assuming he may be back), Drury, Boylan, Griffin.
But to be honest Ashton could easily fit in, so could Lawrie and Murphy.
Decisions decisions.
I have had a lot of stuff going on in my life over the last few week’s, none of it I can get my head round or particularly enjoyed. So during hard times, it is when you realise how much I rely on football in my life.
It keeps you busy and gives you something to look forward to, so luckily for me pre-season is back and before long so will the new football season.
So inevitably my mind goes onto Boro. I wasn’t able to go to Chelmsford during the week but I am hoping to watch Brighton on Saturday. I really want to see what these new players are like and considering two newbies managed to score against Chelmsford, that must give them a great boost.
So many teams in the BSP at the moment seem to have a lot of moving about still in their squads, so I am really glad that GW managed to sort ours out quickly. Cambridge have just lost a manager and Oxford seem to be constantly on the look out for new players. How they expect their teams to be familiar with one another when there is so much change and unsettlement I don’t know.
I am not sure how many of you are aware but we launched all our Boro player profiles last week and in our BSP Gossip/World sections of the website you can also view pictures of grounds and ground information for each club, for those away trips in our interactive map.
Well I best get on, hopefully the weather picks up soon, as it is looking particularly lovely out there today.
Have a good weekend everyone.

This is probably one of the strangest posts you will ever get from me, but as it was Boro related I thought I would share it with you all!
I had the weirdest dream last night, where I saw Morison in Stevenage Town Centre and he was telling me that Millwall’s first game this season was to be against Stafford. (I obviously had the Boro fixtures on my mind).
He and then a few other players took me to the leisure centre where we met GW and discussed season ticket prices. GW told of his plans for the season and also said that we would have enough money despite the short fall with Setanta.
I would like to say that Boro then went on to win the league, but we didn’t. I woke up shortly after Westley’s speech about Setanta.
Well we are set to find out the fixtures soon so hopefully my next dream will be about Boro winning the league!
