A MUM-TO-BE had the shock of her life when she tucked into a supermarket curry.
For staring up at her from the plate was a mouse head!
Tricia Rankin from Honeysuckle Gardens, Hatfield, had hoped the spicy dish would bring on her labour - but hadn't bargained for such an horrific find.
She said: "I thought it was a big piece of meat but then realised the curry was made from minced lamb.
"I prodded it with the fork and saw it was part of a mouse."
Tricia, 33, said she flung the dish down on the table and ran screaming from her house.
Screamed
She screamed so loudly that her two girls, aged five and eight, thought she was about to give birth.
"I was wary about buying a curry anyway because I am allergic to nuts, but I am also allergic to fur," she said.
"I was so worried that I couldn't sleep all night. My throat is sore from being sick, but I just want it all out of my system."
Tricia took the lamb and spinach biryani back to Asda in Hatfield to complain.
A company spokeswoman told the WHT: "All I can say is that we are extremely sorry.
"The item would have been sent off for testing and as soon as those results are available we will give her an appropriate amount of compensation.
"I would like to stress to all of our customers that this was an isolated incident."
The matter is currently being dealt with by the environmental health department at Welwyn Hatfield Council.
A council spokeswoman said: "A food complaint was received and we are currently investigating this through the correct legal procedures.
