A WGC barber is now offering more than just your average short back and sides.
Ben Scott, owner of Scotts of Welwyn in Moors Walk, has recruited tattoo artist Andy Wootton to his studio.
Andy will be inking customers from the salon’s new tattoo parlour, which has been sectioned off from a disused area of the salon.
“Over the last couple of years we’ve got to grips with the studio, and there was part of the shop that was a bit of an unused space, said Ben, who opened Scotts in 2009.
“I was paying for it and not making much use of it.
“I wanted to put either a tattoo parlour or a sunbed there. I thought with a lot of men coming in all the time it’s a good place to have a tattoo parlour and get a little extra business.
“But we also get mums coming in with their sons, and women are getting a lot of tattoos these days.
“Since we’ve opened it’s just been phenomenal.
“Everyone loves it.”
He was also full of praise for artist Andy, who has moved over from Harlow to join the team.
“Andy’s very good,” Ben said. “He’s designing me a tattoo at the moment.
“Some tattoo artists try to change your idea because it’s easier for them to draw, but with Andy what you want is what you get.”
Scotts of Welwyn is open Monday to Saturday.
